Mediation Representative Course - Funded Places Available

Deadline: 10 June 2025

24 June 2025 | 09.30-16.30

By invitation - WLS students only

Interested in finding out more about mediation and developing the skills to assist a client going through a mediation process? Students are invited to apply for a funded place on a certificated Mediation Representative course running online. The usual cost is around £270 per person. This opportunity is open to all WLS undergraduate students (PG students should also express interest although their course will run at another time).

Note that prior knowledge of mediation is a requirement to ensure you understand the content of the Med Rep course. There is a free online Introduction course running on 23 June from 11.30. Sign up here.

Contents of Med Rep course

Principled Negotiation 9.30 am -12.30 pm

The session will involve an outline of Principled Negotiation theory and skills and opportunities to practise the core skills needed to support parties in conflict to resolve their differences.

Being a mediation representative 1.30-4.30 pm

The session will involve an outline of how to support a client in a mediation and opportunities to practise the core skills needed to support parties in conflict to resolve their differences.

Attendees who attend the Introduction session (23 June) and the Principled Negotiation and the Acting as a Mediation Representative workshops will receive EMS certification as Mediation Representatives.

Cambridge Law Review: Call for Submissions

Deadline: 15 June 2025

The Cambridge Law Review (CLR) is now inviting submissions for Volume 10, Issue 2 of the CLR, which will be published in Summer 2025.

We are also delighted to announce that this year, Serle Court, a leading commercial chancery barristers’ chambers, will be sponsoring a £500 prize for the best submission to Volume 10, on any English commercial law and/or equity topic. All submissions meeting the theme will automatically be included in the adjudication of the prize, which will be undertaken by the Editorial Board, who will announce the winner in the following Issue.

Paralegal Vacancy with Glovers Solicitors

Glovers is a firm of commercial real estate specialist lawyers based in Covent Garden – the Legal 500 names us “the Glovers team are experts in their field, their knowledge and expertise are superb”. You will split your time between our Property Finance, Commercial Property and Litigation teams.

The role would be a fantastic opportunity to gain experience through a variety of stimulating tasks across our teams.

Call for Papers: ESports Law & Practice

Deadline: 31 July 2025

We are excited to announce an essay competition for students (LLB, LLM and PhD candidates) interested in esports law!

The best three essays will receive a signed hard copy of the book “Esports Law and Practice”. The Top 10 essays will be featured on Esports Legal News, providing the author with an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to a groundbreaking publication in esports law.

Short Term Mobility Mailing List

Over 1,000 students undertook a short-term mobility last academic year. This included short courses, summer schools, language course, international volunteering, work placements, online opportunities.

By signing up to the mailing list students (and staff) will receive priority notification of various opportunities, funding and discounted offers.

Warwick Foundation Studies is offering In-sessional English for academic purposes this year, with classes running in each term. This programme is intended for registered international students and members of staff wishing to gain English language support.

Student Focus, in association with The Times newspaper, is the nationwide student research programme on graduate recruitment. Mini Pupillage Grant Scheme

Mini-pupillages are a great way to gain work experience that can be used to help you decide which area of law you'd like to specialise in, as well as crucial work experience for pupillage and job applications.

Our Mini Pupillage Grant Scheme offers financial assistance to students wishing to undertake mini pupillages. Grants are intended to assist with the cost of travel, accommodation and clothing if needed. You do not need to be a member of the Inn to apply.
